What is it with rules designed to police black hair, black bodies and black identity? Where does one draw the line between an outright abrogation of freedom of expression and a request to obey basic rules of decency and decorum? Are we trying to tame the #unkempt black hair, or subdue the rebellious black spirit?

Joining our discussion will be noted Jamaican attorney-at-law Bert Samuels, and his daughter Ayanna T. Samuels, together with Marie Hitchins.  Bert and Ayanana wrote a column in the Daily Gleaner on this subject which can be seen here: http://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/focus/20160925/bert-and-ayanna-samuels-hopefield-prep-are-rules-just-rules
