Donna Lyons Interviews Major League Baseball's Tarrik Brock

Tarrik Brock is the Outfield and Base Running Coordinator at Los Angeles Dodgers he was also with the Padres organization as first base coach and in 2015 as the organization's outfield and base running coordinator. He spent the 2014 season before joining the Padres as the first base coach for the Houston Astros, also handling base running instruction for the Astros, a season in which Astro's infielder Jose Altuve led the American League with a career-high 56 stolen bases.

Prior to joining the Astros, he spent the previous seven seasons with the Florida Marlins where he was the outfield and base running coordinator. Tarrik Spent parts of the 2010 season as the Major League club's first base coach for the Marlins. He Began his coaching career with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization where he served as hitting coach.

During his playing career, he signed as a second-round selection out of the 1991 First-Year Player Draft by the Detroit Tigers out of Hawthorne High School in California. Tarrik had a 13-year career as a professional player, with the Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, and Dodgers.

He appeared in 13 Major League games with the Cubs in 2000, including making his Major League debut on March 29, 2000 in the Cubs history Opening Day game against the New York Mets at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, getting a single in his first career Major League at-bat off of Rich Rodriguez.
