Home Economics Re-Brands, Remains Waste of Time

On the September 6, 2016 edition of The Joy Cardin Show on Wisconsin Public Radio, fill-in host John Munson gave UW-Stevens Point professor Susan Turgeson free rein to shill home economics courses.

Sue and her colleagues have attempted to STEM-ify home ec. by equating it with -all- sciences generally. However, SenatorJPO shows this is a false equivalence, as well as tears down Turgeson's examples of home economics in action.

*Note: When hearing the phrase "family and consumer sciences," that is a reference to home economics. Don't let Turgeson mislead you, because the course content has remained practically the same, except for the particulars of the household appliances used.
