Today's show is dedicated to "International Power" and the best ways and means for nations to bid for global influence in the twenty-first century. We will discuss Harvard Professor Joseph S. Nye Jr.'s concept of soft power in his article "The Information Revolution and Power" in Current History, Jan 2014 (link to Dr. Nye's ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8udhM8QKxg).

Some of the questions we will engage are: What determines whether a country is more influential than others? Do you think soft power can be effective in our modern world? Does America has what it takes to attract and persuade countries by means of culture, political values and foreign policies?
