About Jurgen: Jurgen is a Certified Master Bench Jeweler with over 50 years of expertise in all aspects of jewelry making and production.

 

Before starting his own consulting business in 2012, he was the Director of Technical Education for Platinum Guild International (PGI) USA for 15 years, and he continues to provide technical support to PGI and its clients.

 

Jurgen also has extensive experience as an educator. Earlier in his career, he was an instructor at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), where he created the platinum educational program the GIA offers today. He has taught at the University of Central England in Birmingham, UK and several other schools in southern California, [Texas and Massachusetts]. Jurgen has lectured in South Africa, China and Germany and is a popular and frequent speaker at many trade shows throughout the world. He has published several papers at the Santa Fe Symposium and was recently honored with their prestigious Ambassador Award.

 

Born and raised in Germany, Jurgen learned the trade of bench jeweler as a teenager through a formal apprenticeship. After immigrating to the US, he continued to add to his extensive jewelry making knowledge and skills through roles ranging from production manager to studio owner.
