My Guest this Thursday, July 26th at 3 p.m. PDT/6EDT on MetalSmith BenchTalk is Pam Robinson, the Director of Educational Programming & Metalsmithing at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago.

About Lillstreet: Founded in 1975, Lillstreet Art Center is a large community of artists and students working side-by-side in a friendly environment which encourages and inspires artistic growth in the individual. Lillstreet supports the arts through an artist residency program, gallery, studio space, education, and an outreach program.

We offer adult classes and workshops for all skill levels in seven different departments: ceramics, metalsmithing & jewelery, painting & drawing, printmaking, textiles, glass, and digital arts & photography. Each department offers First-Time Artist classes that help beginners to explore a new medium in a relaxed environment. Our Kidstreet program has classes, camps, and family workshops for children age 2 and up.

About Pam: Pam Robinson is a Chicago based jewelry designer, craftsperson, educator and founding member of the Chicago Metal Arts Guild. She teaches at the college level and at an art center for continuing education.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has studied gemology at The Gemological Institute of America.

In 1994, Pam established a business for herself creating custom made wedding rings.  She also has a line of one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry made of sterling, gold and gemstones.
