TONIGH @6PM, LETS SHARE OUR STORIES OF POWER, HEALING AND TRANSFORMATION

"@RahielT: The world lost a literary giant today. And I lost a personal hero. A woman whose words and image have influenced my dreams since I was a little girl. Seeing her rise on the international stage as a wordsmith, I knew my gift would make room for me. I studied her life journey but more than anything I took constant note of her resilience. In 2004, I had the privilege of interviewing her via phone while editor of The Washington Informer. She stopped mid interview and spoke to me about holding the craft of writing sacred. She told me what kind of journalist I should be. It was all too brief. But her voice and wisdom, as you know, travels the span of ancestral time and back. Speaking of time, her poem and words about love in Tyler Perry's movie years ago ring in my ears to this day. Dr. Angelou knew love in ways few human beings ever will. She knew how revolutionary and healing it is. She knew how it has the power to both resurrect and destroy. So she loved us by sharing the totality of her being and womanhood with us. She loved us by demanding we love ourselves and others. Thank you for the life you breathed into the dreams and hopes of little boys and girls worldwide. Thank you for those of us, who like caged birds, were always in search of freedom and your story helped from afar in the rescue efforts. Your rest has come. Your eternal freedom is here"  Urban Cusp
