According to the American Bar Association Commission on DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, Black Women are 22 times to experience physical violence than any other race. Black males experienced intimate partner violence at a rate about 22 times the rate of men of other races. The number one killer of African-American women ages 15 to 34 is homicide at the hands of a current or former intimate partner. Chances are that you are unaware that you are in the midst of someone being abused. If you are alarmed by the foregoing statistics, then this week's discussion is NOT TO BE MISSED! Join us this THURSDAY AT 9PM EST on WBRG The Bridge as we welcome: Mrs Quincy Lucas, Founder of witneyslights.com as she shares the tragic story of her Sister, Dr. Witney Holland Rose, whose light was extinguished as a result of domestic violence; and her foundation's commitment to eliminating domestic violence through awareness, education, prevention and advocacy. Also joining our panel will be Dorothy Goins. Ms. Goins is an author, motivational speaker and a committed humanitarian in the area of Domestic Violence. She's been featured on the Michael Baisden show and works with the women of Sojourner's House; a Women's Abuse Center. We'll be here for you this coming Thusrday at 9pm EST.
