WARRIOR WELLNESS AND LIFEWORLDS WITH REV.MIKE KIM IS HONORED TO PRESENT: JIM RITTERHOFF

Force Blue began as a dream two years ago when myself, Recon Marine Veteran Rudy Reyes and our third partner, Keith Sahm, took a dive trip together and realized that, if we could somehow build a program that would unite the community of Special Operations veterans with the world of marine scientists and conservationists, we could indeed impact both for the better.

“Giving warriors a cause and a cause its warriors” became our mantra.

The idea is that if we can give these highly skilled and trained combat divers a new, positive mission…something that might be missing from their civilian lives…we can perhaps rekindle their sense of purpose and desire to serve.

At the same time, we can use these highly regarded, highly respected warriors to bring a whole new voice to the marine conservation movement – and with that voice, a whole new audience of people who currently are not engaged.

Now, 23 months after that first dive, we’ve just come back from our first deployment, which included two Recon Marines, a U.S. Navy Seal, an army Green Beret, an Air Force Pararescue Jumper, a British Royal Marine and an Army Combat Medic.

It was an experience that exceeded all our expectations. And it gave us the proof of concept we need to attract the sort of donors and sponsors we believe can turn FORCE BLUE into an international force for good.

On Tuesday, June 6th at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of NYU in New York, we’ll be screening “Mercy, Love & Grace: The Force Blue Story” a documentary filmed during our deployment. We encourage all your listeners to join us and support this incredibly timely and important mission.
