We have a two-fold calling: to tell people about the love and sacrifice of Jesus, and to defend Him.  Jude 3 tells us to be "set for the defense of faith"--it is not enough to talk of His love, we must give people answers, reasons for our faith.  We must study to show ourselves approved so that we will never feel ashamed.
