In January of this year, Jackie Salyers, a Puyallup Tribe member, and her unborn baby, were shot and killed in a dark alley by the Tacoma Police department. The circumstances surrounding her death are highly questionable. The fallout of the investigation has been alarming and confusing.

Like so many families who experience the death of a family member through police brutality, Jackie's family and the Puyallup tribe found themselves in an activist role almost overnight. Justice for Jackie was created and they have been fighting for justice ever since.

Justice for Jackie is a cornerstone in the I-873 effort. I-873 is a revolutionary initiative that is the first of it's kind in the nation that will put policing laws in the hands of the people vs. the legislature.
