"Live the Life of a Champion"

Join me as I interview Solomon and Gloria Herbert of Black Meetings & Tourism Magazine to discuss the "Champions Awards". The Champions Awards recognizes individuals in Politics and in Corporate America that have championed the cause of Tourism and Hospitality in United States. As a community we want to recognize those individuals for their accomplishments and for their contributions over the years. There are many that have been sounding the horn and championing the cause for many years and their efforts often go unrecognized and unrewarded. Recognizing the performance of the past is only part of our mission. We're going to take it a step further, the road they've traveled has not been easy, and the work is not finished yet. Many young people are graduating from school and need the guidance and experience that they have to offer. They will have the opportunity to speak to, network with and be mentored by people who have traveled the road on which they are about to embark. People that are in the industry doing the work every day, enjoying what they do, and living their dreams living. The Champions Awards will allow those young thirsty minds to have the opportunity to make those difficult decisions, but with guidance. There will be an African-American male and female from all 50 states and at that event. Not only will we recognize those people who are accomplishing great things, but we will prepare for the future by putting them together with those young minds that are going to assure the success of our future.

We're going to help them make the right decisions, help them do the right thing. They will have true professional mentors to guide their journey.
