Join Tim Ray as he interviews Stefan J. Malecek, Ph.D. Stefan served as a Social Work/Clinical Psychology Technician, in Vietnam 1968-1969. He moved to San Francisco where he worked for 17 years in various aspects of psychiatry. He has been clean from cocaine since 1982. He got his Ph.D. in Psychology from Saybrook University in 2006, and semi-retired from his trauma-recovery private practice in 2013. His book Crucible of Shame: Trauma and Transformation details the intimate relationship between shame, addictions and “mental illness” with the context of the Corporate State. In 2018, he had a chapter entitled Moral Inversion published in the anthology Moral Injury and War. He’s has had over 300 jobs, including choker setter on a logging crew, vegetarian restaurant cook, commercial tuna fisherman, majordomo for a professional artist, assistant hotel manager, and roadie for a rock-and-roll band. He is living a quiet, private life on the island of Maui and deeply committed to The Mankind Project community. He has been both a line- and a copy-editor for six published books by other authors.
