WORLD-PERFORMER BJ VAVASSEUR: FROM ABUSE VICTIM TO RECORDING ARTIST
BJ Vavasseur hasn’t always led a fairy-tale life. She hasn’t always been popular and well-sought-after by churches all over the world vying for her to come and share her beautiful singing voice. Quite the contrary. BJ possesses a history of being an unwanted foster teen, a rape victim, a domestic violence victim, and a single mother.
In this episode, BJ talks with hosts Sherrie Clark and Marsha Yarbrough Geoghagan as she shares her journey from a scared girl who felt unloved within the foster-care system to a confident and successful world performer who has written one book and recorded eight CDs. She’s compelled to share her past with the world, and does, to reach other broken-hearted people who have suffered through similar traumas. Her heart is to help women realize that abuse doesn’t have to define who they are and what they will become. Through her inspirational testimony, she wants to give hope that through Christ Jesus, they too can become an overcomer and experience victory.
