Israel Has Left Egypt, But Has Egypt Left Israel?

Israel is now free from the Egyptians, from generations of slavery. They have been miraculously delivered from the grip of Pharaoh once and for all by the One True God. But we see, as they are in the wilderness, that their default is to complain when they encounter difficulties. Each time God provides what they need - God is trying to build their faith so they know that God will always provide for them. But the Israelites struggle with faith because they are always looking back at what they had in Egypt as opposed to looking forward to what they have in the One True God. They are still slaves to their flesh and do not know God's ways yet. This is a lesson for us believers today - not to default to worldly ways and the flesh when difficult times come.
