Jacob, after he left Esau, pitched his tent in Shechem. This ended up in disaster as Dinah his daughter, was violated. Jacobs sons took revenge on the people of Shechem and used God's laws about circumcision to weaken the men of the city so they could destroy it. Nothing good happens when we pitch our tents, so to speak, too close to the world. If we do the risk is that the filth of the world will contaminate us and affect our relationship with God. As we humble ourselves and repent, God will, in His Love and Graciousness lead us back away from the world, and into His presence. Join us today at 4:00 pm as we continue to look at Jacob's journey with God and what that says to us today.
