The Futility Of Our Own Strength Versus God's Divine Action

As we continue to look at the life of Jacob, son of Isaac, and grandson of Abraham, we see that Jacob is at a point in his life where he has to meet his brother Esau again. The same brother that Jacob cheated and deceived to bring about what he thought was God's will. His encounter with an Angel of God will show and teach Jacob that he cannot rely on his cunning schemes or his fleshly ideas to get what he wants. He will have to put his faith and trust fully in God to do what only God can do.
