It takes humility to forgive

In the Bible, the Lord Jesus teaches us about the dangers of self-righteousness and pride which prevents us from loving others, from reaching those who are lost with His gospel. Instead, the Lord Jesus tells us that it is through humility that we can stretch out our hands to those who are perishing in the dark. It is through humility that He, Himself, came down from Heaven, and was stretched out on a cross for sins He never committed, just to pay our sin debt. 

As His disciples, we are called to exhibit this same humility, to pray for others, to intercede for them, to run after them, to be persistent, to never give up on anyone, because God never gives up on us.
