This week I have Kathy McGuire on the program. I received an email a few weeks ago letting me know that they are up to some great things in Camden. So, I checked it out and yep, they are.  Kathy is the passion behind New Jersey Aid for Animals and it's clear she is all about making sure the pet population in Camden are represented and fought for. After spending time on corners handing out information and talking to people, she was looking for a better way to get the word out in the community regarding their spay / neuter program. After some street level research she was able to craft her message. Working with a local boxing program and billboard company she was able to launch their Operation Knockout with the assistance of local hero Bernard Hopkins. NJAFA has established itself as a count-on-able member of the community and I'm thrilled to be able to have her on the program.

This weeks blogs...

First off, how many of you have heard the phrase TNR and knew what it meant? I went to Best Friends conference a couple of years ago and heard it for the first time. So, here is an article that will provide a little clarity: Trap-Neuter-Return Programs: What Are They and How Do They Work? The remaining articles this week seem to have a common theme in them... Television. Now don't worry I'm not planning on trying to replace T.V. Guide here. First up: Television Goes to the Dogs with DOGTV. Now before you ask, yes, the station is in San Diego (that would be in California) but I'm sure you could petition to bring it to your town. Now that our dogs have their own station, maybe it's time for commercials for at dogs? From the U.K. we have: A Commercial Aimed at Dogs. Finally we have animation meets MadMen in: Martha Speaks Turns Four. Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt and their real-life dog, Cora, star in the season premier on PBS.
