As the former and founding executive director of the Center for Women’s Business Research,Dr. Sharon Hadary has been a leader in creating social change for women for over two decades. At the Center for Women’s Business Research, the premier non-profit research institute devoted to studying women's entrepreneurship, she harnessed the transformational impact of data and altered forever the landscape for women business owners in access to capital, markets, expertise, and networks. Sharon Hadary has been a corporate executive, a researcher, a consultant, a teacher and anentrepreneur. When it comes to women’s entrepreneurial and corporate leadership, she knows the people as well as the data. Today, as Principal of Sharon Hadary & Co, she is teaching, writing, and speaking nationally on the subject of women’s leadership while working on her new book, The Catapult Principle, Critical Success Factors for the New World of Women’s Entrepreneurship. Her article on “What’s Holding Back Women Entrepreneurs” was the lead story in The Wall Street Journal’s May 2010 Small Business Report. Her recent articles on women’s business leadership and decision-making styles have appeared in Enterprising Women Magazine, MBE Magazine and 270inc, and she is widely quoted on the subject in the media. Dr. Hadary is a life-long educator and mentor. She created the first leadership institute specifically for women leading established businesses and led a three-year initiative to focus on women business owners of diverse races developing and implementing actions plans to address their specific issues. Currently she is an adjunct professor at University of Maryland University College teaching leadership in the doctoral program and an undergraduate class on women as leaders. She has received multiple awards for her work on behalf of women entrepreneurs. We are excited to share Sharon with the Tribal Truth community.
