This week, Travel Today With Peter Greenberg comes from the historic and legendary The Buccaneer in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The hotel, a member of Historic Hotels of America, is the longest running resort in the Caribbean. Fire Chief Larry Johnson of the Virgin Islands Fire Service talks about his secret eats (funghi and fish anyone?) on St. Croix as well as other island specialties you won’t find on brochures. Most people don’t know the rich history of The Buccanneer (we’ll find out) or that St. Croix is home to three national parks. Zandy Hillis-Starr, Chief Resource Manager for the National Park Service on the island, has some real surprise discoveries. Lisa Kirkley Terry of The Nature Conservancy’s Coral Nursery and Restoration Program, talks about its work to repair and preserve the coral reefs of the Caribbean. There’s all of this and more as Travel Today With Peter Greenberg comes from The Buccaneer in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands on April 1, 2017.
