The lie is the essence of evil. In its multiple manifestations the lie has caused by damage than we imagine. Is it any wonder that Jesus emphasized the importance of truth at every opportunity.  But in this case we focus on Jesus' instruction that the devil is the father of the lie and that the lie is its native language.
