The theology of the Cross is a term coined by the theologian Martin Luther[1] to refer to theology that posits the cross as the only source of knowledge concerning who God is and how God saves. Some believe that the cross demonstrates that through great suffering come great blessings.  This theory, invented by Martin Luther of protestant reformation fame, proposes that because Jesus was revealed as the most blessed person on earth because of his suffering and death why have we his followers united to him by faith have any right to expect anything different? Some of us beg to differ. Not because we do not believe in Jesus or God but because we do not believe in Luther or Paul from whom Luther likely got the inspiration for his doctrine.
