AV celebrates Loving Day

American Vernacular celebrates Loving Day. We pay special tribute to Mildred and Richard Loving and their remarkable story of love and endurance. Their interracial marriage became an eight year battle for marriage equality. A unanimous US Supreme Court victory in 1967 led to the legalization of interracial marriage in all 50 states because of their quiet, dignified yet defiant courage in the face of racial prejudice and social injustice. Tune in as we will feature "When Love Happens: The Loving Day Concert" CD in its entirety followed by a collection of love songs selected espeially for this occasion.
