Esosa is an award winning actress/writer/"directress." She was born in New York City and growing up was reared in New York, New Jersey, California, Jamaica, and Virginia. She has received several awards and distinctions since the beginning of her artistic career, including: 2008 Brooklyn Arts Re-Grant and the 2007 Frances E. Williams Artist Grant. Her work as an actress has screened in numerous festivals worldwide, on BET-J, in the MOMA, and in 2008 Whitney Biennial. For five years she played the role of Malady in the AUDELCO award winning showing Platanos & Collard Greens. Recent independent film projects include leading and supporting roles in "Brooklyn Shakara," "Unguarded," "Seasons of a Woman", "The Exposure," and "The Imperialists Are Still Alive," which was nominated for the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival. She was also chosen as the grand prize winner of the Ford Fiesta Casting Call and was featured in the 2011 Ford Fiesta online campaign and commercial that aired nationally on BET.
