Sunday August 28, 2005, was the day that would forever change my life.  It was the last time I'd attend church in New Orleans, and the last time  I'd lock my apartment door. My twelve year old son and I would soon  transition from life as usual, to a life of uncertainty. That was the  night we evacuated to the New Orleans Superdome in anticipation of  hurricane Katrina.
