Blogger Roosh Valizadeh had the city of Chicago up in arms over his “International Tribal Meet Up Day,” which was a gather of men who stand for the right to be “pro-rape.” Valizadeh referred to his event as a gathering of men’s rights activist who had decided to “come out” about their stance on legal rape. He is now claiming that the whole ordeal was a satire and has canceled the event.

The men were supposed to meet at a flagpole located at Devon Avenue and Sheridan Road that meet at the edge of Rogers Park and Edgewater on Saturday at 8 p.m. The meet was meant to develop “meaningful friendships” and hear from their fearless leader who believes it is every man’s right to impress himself on a female if it’s off public grounds.

“I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds,” he wrote on his blog a year ago.

Valizadeh also considers himself an expert on picking up women and provides advice to his followers on how to lure in the enemy. That’s right, he considers the opposite gender to be the enemy and often refers to them as such.

“Up to now, the enemy has been able to exert their power by isolating us and attacking with shrieking mobs, but we’ll be able to neutralize that tactic by amassing in high numbers come February 6,” he wrote. “I will exact furious retribution upon anyone who challenges you in public on that date.”
