Susan Szpyrka Achieves the Title as a Woman of Influence

Susan Szpyrka was a student working toward her degree at UCCS in the 1970s. Today she has two degrees and has worked at UCCS for 33 years. Susan currently serves as the senior vice chancellor of administration and finance. Her peers recognize her leadership as she is the senior-most person in the area of finance. Former Chancellor, Pam Shockley, was a big influence in her life. Pam told her at one point, "Get your degree. You'll need it! I have big plans for you." This is what mentors who see potential in you that you may not see in yourself do.

Susan now mentors others and finds opportunities to serve aspiring leaders and her community. She was recognized as a 2017 Women of Influence recipient by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
