Today, we have a guest panel and will discuss the issue of Grandparents raising their grandchildren. Donna M. Butts, Executive Director of Generations United (www.gu.org) and Kim Stevens, Project Director of Advocates for Family First will discuss this issue, along with Shelia and Collins who will share their story, joined by Janol who will share his experience being raised by his grandmother. Where are the mother’s and father’s? What issues plague many grandparents who are in this position, voluntarily or involuntarily? How does this affect our community? What are the solutions?
