The recent focus for an active group of Niagara Falls New York residents has been the 2019 city budget. They are now shifting their focus to the Niagara Falls Water Board.
It has been announced recently that New York State is prepared to invest $13.5 million - an amount to be matched by the Niagara Falls Water Board - to support immediate projects aimed at addressing water quality impairments caused by the aging wastewater treatment plant.
For the Water Board to take advantage of the entire $13.5 million, the Ratepayers need to be prepared to borrow $13.5 million.
There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the work necessary to our water and sewer infrastructure could use the entire total of $27 million and then some.
