What's behind your furniture? I don't mean the dirty socks on the floor or underwear flung there in moments of flinging or for that matter dust bunnies or cat toys or yesterday's spaghetti. I am talking about the story behind the stuff. Every piece has story. Where did you get it? Why? What does it mean to you? Did you raid Grandma's attic? Did you cleverly distract Grandma to get into the attic? I use the word "distract" loosely. Did you poison Grandma to get into the attic? If you did poison Grandma, maybe you shouldn't call just in case someone in authority is listening. Every piece of furniture has a story and I want to hear it. Even if the story is just, "I went to Ikea and bought a chair." Hmmm, I mean, while that, indeed, is a story, that would be a really boring story and frankly I don't want to hear it. I'd be bored. Every piece of furniture has a cool story. What's yours?

Join me, Bootsy Welles, every Tuesday at 11pm for a live broadcast of "The Unperfectionist" where we explore the lives of creative people who believe that personal expression is more important than perfection when it comes to living in style. Find out about upcoming episodes at http://www.facebook.com/theunperfectionst and follow me on Twitter @unperfectspaces. David Hasselhoff does, and so should you.

Thanks ever so.

;-) Bootsy
