Our guests this morning are Linda Reeves and Cindy Byrne from the PFLAG Manhattan Beach Chapter.

Linda Reeves is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Manhattan Beach where she specializes in working with LGBTQ individuals, couples and families. Linda is also the proud mother of a gay son who has been the inspiration for her work. In response to the bullying he experienced in school, she co-founded the Prism Institute which provides LGBTQ+ cultural diversity training to medical and mental health providers, schools and other academic entities.

Cindy Byrne is a former lawyer and mom to two teenage boys. When her oldest came out as transgender, Cindy found very few resources for education and support in the South Bay. Luckily, she did find connection with other local moms lovingly navigating the steep learning curve and emotional terrain of their kids’ gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation — all while struggling with typical teenage angst.

This morning, we’ll learn what PFLAG is and what it offers and the local LGBTQ community. For additional information, visit the website at https://www.pflagmanhattanbeach.org/.
