Our guests this morning are Joe Baker, Heidi Duckler and Jose Lemus. They’re here on behalf of the upcoming Palos Verdes Art Center’s production of House: A Site Specific Performance on the Pacific Edge.
An artist, curator and educator, Joe Baker is the Executive Director of the Palos Verdes Art Center. Joe recently served as Executive Director for Longue Vue House and Gardens in New Orleans, LA.
José Lemus is the Artistic Director of Wearable Expressions 7th International Juried Exhibition and runway show. He was born in Guatemala City, the son of a diplomat and grandson of a dandy. He was educated in South America and attended boarding school with the Dominican priests in Andorra.
Heidi Duckler is the Artistic Director and founder of Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre. Since its inception in 1985, she has choreographed more than 200 original dance works at unique sites in Australia, Germany, Russia, Hong Kong, Montreal, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, and throughout Southern California. Titled “the reigning queen of site-specific performance,” by the L.A. Times, her work has been commissioned by the Brisbane Festival, Miami Light, Grand Performances, REDCAT, Aben Dans in Denmark, Brookfield Properties, the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, and Reed College among others.
This morning, we’re going to learn about House: A Site Specific Performance on the Pacific Edge, which takes place on Saturday, February 4 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. for one performance only at a midcentury residence designed by architect, Aaron G. Green.
