Natural vs. Relaxed Hair Debate = New Willie Lynch Letter?

Has the ongoing debate between natural hair vs. relaxed hair further divided black women?  Hair was a thing that use to bond black women whether it was sitting in the beauty salon for hours or sitting in our grandmother's kitchen waiting for the straightening comb, we were united in our hair exploits.  Hair was a thing we all had in common, but not anymore.

Carmen Jones, of  the website, Deeply Rooted Beauty, wrote a very powerful essay, Natural vs. Relaxed: Modern Day Willie Lynch Letter, that basically equated the ongoing debate between natural hair and relaxed hair to that of the fictitious Willie Lynch Letter.  Although the letter was proven to be a hoax, the tenets contained in it are very much real as to the dividing of the black community.
