With the midterm election shaping up to be one of the most important in recent memory, the Democrats need the help of African Americans more than ever before. It was the enthusiasm from African Americans as well as other Americans that thrust President Barack Obama into the White House. With unemployment for African Americans nearly double that of the national average as well as some other pressing issues, it would appear that the thrill is gone.
