On this week's radio show I have decided to replay an interview I did with Bishop John Shelby Spong, which was originally recorded on August 20th, 2011. What he has to share about immigration, marriage equality, women's rights and the economy seems to have even more relevance today, given the current political climate in our country.
Spong, whose books have sold more than a million copies, was bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark for 24 years before his retirement in 2001. He's considered the champion of an inclusive faith by many, both inside and outside the Christian church.
I want to encourage as many as possible to listen to what he has to say, and then start a conversation with others!
This conversation begins Sunday at noon EST on 88.7FM, WICR and worldwide at richardbrendan.org. This program will be podcast for seven days, 24/7 on my site.
