TAMPA FL – Local Psychotherapist and talk show host Marci Slater is shedding light on the biggest mental health breakthroughs discovered in the past 25 years.

“There have been exciting breakthroughs in our field and our general understanding of the human mind as it relates to our daily lives and how we think and feel,” says Slater, who is a practicing psychotherapist with more than 10 years in the field. “Understanding the bridge between mental health and the physical body is key.”

Slater goes on to say that science has uncovered a lot of findings that would probably surprise the average person. For example, tears themselves can have a different chemical makeup based on the emotion that generates them.

Slater will host a radio show on Saturday, May 11, at 3:00pm discussing the greatest discoveries made in mental health and how people can apply these findings to gain a greater understanding of their own lives.

The American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) has designated May 6-12 as "Mental Health Counseling Week" to promote and reinforce the importance of mental health.
