Social media can have the most confident individual feeling like a loser needing to “measure up” to their peers. The constant barrage of perfectly filtered photos that appear on Instagram are bound to knock many people’s self-esteem as they consciously or subconsciously compare themselves to others and their aesthetically beautiful Instagram photos. While social media platforms can have their benefits, using them too frequently can make you feel increasingly unhappy and isolated in the long run. While everyone may be posting their wins or their highlight reels, not everyone is as honest or transparent about  posting their suffering, their losses, and rejections. In this episode, Nancy talks about the dangers of social media, the perception of perfection, and why we shouldn't allow ourselves to be sucked into the unrealistic expectations of what others are posting online. Also in this episode, Nancy talks about her own journey, she shares how she felt when she had her miscarriage, her husband's cancer diagnoses, and the car accident that killed one of the people closest to her.
