Good morning, today on The Meter we will cover the most recent attempt at Joe Biden's so called "Build Back Better" plan as Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia agrees to support the $755B spending bill to fight inflation, tax corporations, and give credits for $80,000 electric cars. Not a single Republican voted for the Inflation Reduction Act. Bernie Sanders is on record saying the bill will do little to help struggling families. Is spending money the Democrat Party's only solution to America's economic problems? Also, Attorney General Merrick Garland has announced federal charges against 4 former Louisville Police Officers on the raid that killed Breonna Taylor. One officer was initially charged with blind firing but was acquitted by a Kentucky jury. The announcement has revived the case from March 13, 2020 that preceeded George Floyd's killing 6 weeks later. Law enforcement has decried the decision. Is this justice or a witch hunt? Internationally, tensions between the US and China are increasing because of Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan. China renounced the trip that was not endorsed by the White House. China has pulled out of climate change partnering with the US over the trip and China has increased military drills in the straight separating Taiwan from the Chinese mainland. Was this a good or bad move by Pelosi? Please join the discussion at 10AM. The call-in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential.
