Good morning, today on The Meter, we will debate the 9th Circuit Court decision to uphold the Washington State court that stayed President Trump's travel ban. The 3 judge panel decided that there was no evidence that anyone from the named countries posed a threat. Trump pledged in a tweet the fight will go on and that another Executive Order on immigration may come this week. Are American courts putting American lives in danger or protecting immigrant rights? Raids are intensified across America targeting criminal illegal aliens causing outrage and protests. Law enforcement or human rights violation?Jeff Sessions was confirmed as the Attorney General of the United States only receiving one Democrat vote. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) MA was silenced on the floor of the Senate in the debate before the vote for violating Senate rules because of her rant against Jeff Sessions, a sitting senator. Was the silencing appropriate? Also, another cabinet member, Elizabeth "Betsy" DeVos, was confirmed as the Secretary of Education by a tie breaking vote by Vice-President Mike Pence. This is the only time that a vice-president had to break a tie vote for a cabinet member. In her first trip while on the job, Secretary DeVos was blocked from entering a Washington, DC public school by protestors. DeVos eventually made her way into the school, but what message does this send to the country regarding education for minority students. Finally, President Trump hosted the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe where they discussed trade and security in the midst of a missle test from North Korea. Bluff or challenge?
