You are tuned in to The Hot New Q.    --- QLJNRADIO.COM - And this is COCKTAIL CONVERSATIONS.

Tonight's Topic is:  "College is Not for Everyone"

In today’s day and age the push is for our students to be career and college ready and everything is about taking rigorous courses to prepare them for college.  But wait, hold up not every student is made for college and some have a better skill set with vocational jobs which require more hands on skills such as construction, welders, auto mechanics, electricians, carpentry, plumbers, etc. We need to bring Vocational Tech Programs back for Schools ASAP. Let’s discuss this important topic as we need to do what’s in the best interest of our children.

Here are the Controversial Counselor’s four essential talking points about College is Not for Everyone.

  1. Are we pushing an agenda on our children based on our obsession with competing with other countries as far as education?

  2. The curriculum taught in most school districts have not motivated or engaged students to further pursue higher education.

  3. These vocational jobs will always be needed and we need individuals to be trained in these areas in the future.

  4. We need to give our students options and choices to empower them and give hope for a better future.
