“Stunning,” “flawless” and “moving” are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the

crystal clear vocals of Gospel Jazz Vocalist Robert E. Person. With superior vocal control and spirited

delivery, the award-winning singer provides the perfect recipe for a memorable music experience.

With his exquisitely trained voice and effortlessly controlled vocal technique, Robert E. Person is

continuing to build his repertoire, fan base and artistic persona as "The Inspirational Jazz Vocalist

Extraordinaire".

The Washington DC native developed his talent as a youth staying active in musical theatre with the

D.C. Youth Ensemble. He honed his musical craft at the prestigious Morehouse College, and at the

University of the District of Columbia. Expanding upon his artistic ability, Robert has performed in

musical theatre productions including “The Wiz”, “Purlie”, “Dreamgirls”, and Langston Hughes’ “Black

Nativity” as well as his “Tambourines to Glory” which was directed by Kenny Leon of the Tony Award-

winning Broadway hit “A Raisin In The Sun.”

Robert has delivered four impressive indie projects: THE CALL, NEXT LEVEL and SOUL

SANCTUARY. SOUL SANCTUARY is an award winning impressive collection of work flowing

effortlessly from traditional to contemporary to smooth Gospel/Jazz. Robert takes listeners on a sonic

journey from the jazz-tinged rendition of the classic “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” to the beautiful

rendition of the classic “Someday We’ll All By Free” by music legend Donny Hathaway. “It’s been one

of my favorite songs and Donny Hathaway has been one of my favorite singers for years,” recounts

Robert.
