TONIGHT: Did Mayans build their cities based on constellations?
William Gadoury was 12 years old when his Grandfather gave him a book from Mexico about the Mayan civilization. William soon noticed many of the Mayan cities were built in mountains or poor jungle areas. Usually cities are built near rivers or by a sea. He wondered why they would build in difficult areas. Knowing the Maya were star-gazers, he decided to compare constellations to the position of the remote Mayan Cities on a paper map and found exact matches.
What can we learn about the mysterious Mayan Empire? Was this a calling card for off-world travellers looking to stop by? Tonight our special guest talks about The Mayan Empire.
