It's called a worldwide party as 32 nations are represented in the largest sporting event on the planet. Yet, like another multinational event like the Olympics, it's considered a platform for something more than sports for better or worse.

And even during the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Final, it'll dominate the sports landscape for the next month.

After a three-week hiatus, Sumit and Jason return to the 'net waves with The Exchange's first ever trip to the soccer pitch with the highly-anticipated World Cup begins this Thursday. They're joined by long-time friends of the program Dillon Friday of The Sports Fan Journal and Ken Fang from Fang's BitesAwful Announcing to discuss a myriad of topics. Off-pitch, they'll chat on the construction controversies, the ever-maligned FIFA and the spotlight on inequity that has defined Brazil in recent years.

They'll come stateside and have a somewhat predictable discussion about the growth of the sport's popularity in the last four years since South Africa before ending the show discussing the US side and the contenders on the pitch.
