Tree King

April is National Autism Month, and April has been a special part of Tree’s life since her son Myles was born April 29, 1990. Tree can’t believe how time flies! Her son will be 21 this year! Myles loves birthdays, especially his!  Myles likes to celebrate his birthday the entire month of April and this year Tree wants to honor his accomplishments over the past 17 years with autism.

Betty Lehman

Betty has worked for 20 years to promote quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families. In 1992, she convinced Senator Don Mares to carry a bill to require private health plans in Colorado to pay for treatment of autism. With her young son Eli on her hip, Betty spoke with every legislator at the Capitol, and organized the community to provide testimony. Since then, Betty and the Autism Society of Colorado have spearheaded and passed 14 laws in Colorado to support children with disabilities and Colorado citizens.
