Jim Beach’s first book, School for Startups, was published by McGraw-Hill in June 2011 and reached as high as number 9 on Amazon's business section.  Jim has started businesses and has taught entrepreneurship around the world and will be again headlining the Entrepreneur Summit at the world's most exclusive university, Indian Institute of Technology, in January 2013.
 
Jim received his Japanese and Business Administration masters degrees from the University of Hawaii and Japan-America Institute of Management Science of Tokyo, Japan in December 1992. He specialized in Japanese Financial Systems and was selected to receive the Fujitsu Foundation for International Education Scholarship, was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and also was awarded Highest Honors. He worked for the Japanese government trade promotion office (JETRO) where he helped American companies export to Japan and The Coca-Cola Company, both in Japan and in the United States.
 
Along with co-authors Chris Hanks (head of UGA Entrepreneurship program) and David Beasley (AJC and Bloomberg reporter), Jim wrote School for Startups. It was published by McGraw-Hill in the summer of 2011. Promoting the book, he has done over 50 radio interviews, was featured in a UPS commercial, was referred to as the Simon Cowell of venture capital by CNN, and was excerpted by Entrepreneur magazine and the Wall Street Journal India.
