Comedy Hour with The Dash & Jan McInnis

When she was 10 years old, Jan McInnis announced to her parents that when she turned 16 she was going to “buy a motorcycle, ride cross country to Los Angeles, and become a comedian.” Her parents didn’t quite share her “vision” so she ended up graduating from Virginia Tech and having a marketing career for over a decade before getting on stage.  Today, she has spent the past 18 years making people laugh and showing people how to use humor.

 

Jan has cornered the corporate and association convention market with her comedy shows and humor keynotes. She has been in front of thousands of organizations from The Mayo Clinic, to the American Heart Association, the Toyota Women’s Conference, and the Federal Reserve Banks. Jan was featured in the “Wall Street Journal” as one of the top convention comedians whose act is clean. 

 

In addition to being a comedian, Jan is also a veteran comedy writer who has sold material to just about everyone. Her material has been heard everywhere from the Tonight Show monologue with Jay Leno, to hundreds of radio stations, greeting cards, syndicated cartoon strips, and even guests on the Jerry Springer Show (her parents are proud!). She was featured in the Washington Post for her clean comedy writing, and she is author of the book “Finding The Funny Fast: How To Create Quick Humor To Connect With Clients, Coworkers And Crowds.”
