Disruption is the topic for today's show, but taken from two very different perspectives. First - failure. It's something we all experience, yet in most cultures failure is tantamount to a Scarlet Letter. Look no further than Corporate America or pretty much any government body to see examples of people who make mistakes - big ones - yet fail to own up to them or learn. Not so in Silicon Valley. Tech is an industry saturated with failure and it's often from that failure the greatest success comes. Next week marks the third annual FailCON - a conference dedicated to this topic. Conference producer Cassie Phillips joins the show today to talk about it.  Also on this week's show, tech industry rabblerouser Jason Calacanis joins to talk about the newest event on his always evolving roster of activities - and no doubt there will be other saucy industry discussion as well.

The Conversation is not about technology. It's about what you do with it. Jumping from this basic premise, each week The Conversation's Executive Producer & Host Cathy Brooks explores the bits and bytes that are changing the way people get and share information, interact and the way in which this is fundamentally changing social and professional interactions. Each week guests ranging from up and comer entrepreneurs to seasoned influencers and everyone in between join Cathy to talk about what they do, why they do it and how their personal story fits into the mix.
