It was a holiday weekend and by all accounts it should have been filled with barbecues, laughter and picnics in the park; but for many in the marketing and on-line communities, this weekend was marred by a tragedy - the suicide of Trey Pennington. Whether people knew him or not, the chronology of events combined with a consensus that this was a man who, from all appearances, always had a smile on his face was chilling. On today's episode, Cathy is joined by Social Media Club Founder and now Deloitte consultant, Chris Heuer, as well as filmmaker Melissa Pierce for a discussion about the phenomenon exacerbated by socila media - that of people suffering deeply in plain sight.

The Conversation is not about technology. It's about what you do with it. Jumping from this basic premise, each week The Conversation's Executive Producer & Host Cathy Brooks explores the bits and bytes that are changing the way people get and share information, interact and the way in which this is fundamentally changing social and professional interactions. Each week guests ranging from up and comer entrepreneurs to seasoned influencers and everyone in between join Cathy to talk about what they do, why they do it and how their personal story fits into the mix.
