Every year around this time the digital denizens descend on Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest festival. Started more than 30 years ago as a music festival this gathering has expanded to include film as well as Interactive. and this year it's MONSTROUS. With 40,000 registered attendees for SXSW 2011 (about 10,000 more than last year), it's pretty overwhelming. Folks talk about how SXSW is about the parties, but there is some compelling content, and this week on THE Conversation you'll get to hear one of the sessions LIVE! It's a panel discussion taking place on the PepsiCo stage at the Austin Convention Center. Hosted by Fast Company Senior Editor Ellen McGirt, the panel includes Intel Senior Fellow Genevieve Bell, Media Relations Powerhouse Brooke Hammerling of Brew PR and THE Conversation's host, Cathy Brooks. We'll be joining the session in progress, so sit back and take a listen! Formerly known as Social Media Hour, The Conversation is a new look for some great themes. Namely - it's not about the technology . It's about what you do with it. Jumping from this basic premise, each week The Conversation's Executive Producer & Host Cathy Brooks explores the bits and bytes that are changing the way people get and share information, interact and the way in which this is fundamentally changing social and professional interactions. Each week guests ranging from up and comer entrepreneurs to seasoned influencers and everyone in between join Cathy to talk about what they do, why they do it and how their personal story fits into the mix.
